Easter in Amsterdam
This Easter we spent four days in Amsterdam. We stayed on a canal boat hotel on the waterfront and rented bikes for the whole time we were there so we could get around to check out the city and see the sights
And of course some good Amsterdam coffeeshops..
Our first day there we checked out the city and the local coffeeshops of course, then had dinner in the old town square where there was a big carnival on..
We lined up with all the other toursits one morning to see the Anne Frank house, which was really worth it. Then we biked down to the floating flower markets..
Before a bit of cheese taste testing..
There were heaps of markets on in all areas around the city so we spent some time biking around checking them out, as well as cruising around Vondel Park
Our hotel was pretty close to the Red Light District so we spent our evenings hanging out in that area where all the buzz was. Our camera was not a fan of the insane amount of neon lights but we had heaps of fun..
We found some nice places on our travels around, including a vintage cafe full of stuff you could actually buy
And of course some good Amsterdam coffeeshops..
Night in Cambridge
A few weeks back we took the train to Cambridge and spent the night; it was surprisingly such good weather for winter which was a bonus.
We checked out the town markets on the Saturday and went punting along the river that passes the back of all the universities...

Sunday before we left we spent the day drinking coffee, of course, and wandering around the Cambridge Botanical Gardens soaking up the sun and greenery..

Brighton
I took a Saturday trip to Brighton with my friend Natalie last weekend. It is an English seaside town, an hour out of London on the train, full of coffee shops, lane markets and antique stores.
We checked out the pier..
And went through the town looking at the busy markets and shops, as well as admiring the cute coloured buildings..

And to top off the day I found my first English porcelain dog to add to my collection..
London, UK
So we made it to London in December and spent Christmas and New Years in the city with my lovely friend Claire which was great. The blog posts have been a bit slow in coming as I have been mainly spending my time job/flat hunting. But...we now have a flat in West London with a bunch of kiwi's and Brendon got a job at the beginning of the new year (I am still on the hunt), plus the weather has been pretty good for winter so we are getting out and about more.
