Last Day at the Lake

Spent our last day at the lake today eating and snowmobiling - was good fun

Thought I'd put up some pictures of the views of the frozen over lake from the house, we had some light snow while we were here but not much, will be more snow next time when winter really sets in

Had a bonfire last night and toasted some marshmellows - was a pretty quick one cause the wind picked up and was minus something so got too cold but was yum...

Christmas Day at the Lake

Yesterday was one of the best days! We drove up to the lake on Christmas Eve and cut down a little christmas tree on the way

Then christmas morning we woke up, opened presents and went for a walk along a snowy track - made some snow angels along the way in the powdery snow off the track

Along our walk we saw a snowed over beaver home

Then after lunch we went for a snowmobile ride around some tracks, saw a huge moose on the way - she was gorgeous, stood there for a bit looking back at us then pranced up and over the hill

We went round to the side of the lake, by the time we were coming back it was snowing - I had the biggest grin on under my helmut the whole way I think

Big day!! Then came home for a delicious roast stuffed turkey dinner and christmas cake for desert...yum..

Stanley Park Christmas Lights

On Christmas Eve Eve (23rd) we went across to the Stanley Park light show. Its a huge park at the very end of the city. So many trees lit up and little displays everywhere, this was walking up to the entrance

First Week in Vancouver

Welcome to my first post everyone,

Arrived in Vancouver last Saturday 10th December and have had a look around the city etc in the last week since I've been here. Have been going into the city on the skytrain (which is really quick and easy), found lots of shops that we don't have in New Zealand which is exciting - I know where I'll be going to top up my wardrobe!

Also spent the day up at Grouse Mountain skifield, it was such a good day for it, although we went through the clouds to get to the top so it wasn't clear enough to see the city from the very top, it left an awesome image of being above the clouds

And we made a snowman while we were up there
